Seven ports on the Chinese side are the government's priority



The government has made it a priority for China to trade with third countries.

The government has adopted a policy of using three dry and four seaports provided by China.
Presenting the budget for the fiscal year 077/78, Finance Minister Yubaraj Khatiwada said that special arrangements would be made to open ports on the Chinese side.

According to Khatiwada, the policy has been adopted to facilitate the legal way of doing business with third countries through Chinese ports.
Similarly, the government has also given priority to facilitating the export of Nepali products by reviewing trade and trade agreements with neighboring countries.

As per the agreement reached in the protocol of the trade and transit agreement between Nepal and China on 19th Bhadra , Nepal had opened the way for trade with third countries from January 1, 2020 through four Chinese seaports and three dry ports. 

According to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, China has four seaports, including Lianyunga, Shenzhen, Tianjin and Xiangjiang, and Lanzhou.
Nepal was allowed to use three dry ports, Lhasa and Sigatse.
