India is ahead of Italy in corona infections, with about 10,000 infected a day

India has also beaten Italy in a global outbreak of the coronavirus.

India now ranks sixth in the list of most infected countries in the world, surpassing Italy.
The total number of infected people in India has now reached 236,657, officials said. 
In Italy, 234,531 people have been infected with the corona virus so far.

The death toll from the corona is much higher in Italy than in India. 
In India, 6,642 people have died so far, while in Italy, 33,774 people have died due to corona.

According to Indian health officials, 9,887 people have been infected in India in the last 24 hours. 
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has released figures showing that 294 people have died in India in the last 24 hours.
Of those infected in India, 114,073 have returned home from the hospital. 
Maharashtra has the highest number of infected people in the country. 

A total of 80,229 people have been infected there, according to the ministry.

Of them, 42,224 are still infected.

A total of 28,694 people were infected in the second-ranked state of Tamil Nadu, 
ministry officials said.
