US President Donald Trump has said he will ban Tiktok in the United States. He told reporters on Saturday night that he was preparing to ban tiktok and that he had the right to do so, according to CNN.
"As far as interest in the tiktok is concerned, we're banning it in the United States," Trump told reporters.
Trump said he could use emergency economic powers or executive directives to do so. But it is not clear what kind of order it will be.
CNN quoted a source as saying that Trump was preparing to make such a decision because policymakers had expressed concern that foreign-owned tiktok could pose a threat to national security.
