Chemical plant gas leaked in India - 8 people died.

New Delhi. Eight people have died in a gas leak at a chemical plant in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

Vizag Police Commissioner RK Meena said three died near the plant and five died while undergoing treatment at King George's Hospital.

Police have evacuated five nearby villages after a gas leak at the chemical plant.
They have been kept in Meghadri Gedda and other safe places. The villagers have complained of eye irritation and difficulty in breathing.

District Officer Vinay Chand said that 200 people fell ill due to the accident.
He is said to be undergoing treatment. The cause of the gas leak at the chemical plant has not been identified. 

According to the BBC, a case has been filed against the management of the plant. -BBC
