Kathmandu: The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and the government have agreed to extend the deadline for entry into force. The government had proposed an extension to the MCC, saying the agreement would not be implemented within the stipulated time, citing Covid-19. The MCC has been prepared accordingly.
Due to political maneuvering, the approval of the disputed MCC agreement is stuck in the parliament. Millennium Challenge Account Nepal (MCA-Nepal) said that accepting the grant was Nepal's choice and urged the government to take a quick decision. He also said that the availability of funds under this will not always be opened.
