The Ministry of Health and Population has clarified that the epidemic of Covid has not reached the community level amid fears of the spread of coronavirus at the community level in the Kathmandu Valley.
Of those found infected so far, only a small number have not traveled outside or come into contact with outsiders, the ministry said, adding that the spread of covid was not at the community level.
According to the ministry, 97 percent of the infected people found in Nepal are from outside. Most of the infected are men. The ministry said that if there was an outbreak in the community, women should be equally infected.
Although the infection was found in Kathmandu due to lack of travel history, the ministry said that the infection was not found in those who came in contact with the person while going to the community for testing.
It has been found that the infected people in the valley have been brought from abroad, especially from the districts where the infection has spread and those who have come in contact with the three.
So far, 267 infected people have been found infected in the Kathmandu Valley. Of them, 175 are from Kathmandu, 41 from Lalitpur and 43 from Bhaktapur.
According to the ministry, more than 500 people have been infected in six of the worst-affected districts in the country. Among the more than 500 infected districts are Mahottari, Rautahat, Palpa, Achham, Kailali and Bajur.
