Kathmandu. All the branches of the bank in the Kathmandu Valley have been closed on Thursday. The Nepal Bankers' Association has decided to close all the branches in the Kathmandu Valley on Thursday after the local administration stopped all the employees from going to open the bank's branches.
In the agreement reached between the local administration, bankers association and Nepal Rastra Bank on Tuesday, it was agreed to open a limited branch as the bank is also in the essential area. However, the union decided to close all the branches of Bank after the local administration stopped the employees breaking the agreement.
The union said that despite the local administration's request to withdraw money from the ATM, staff was needed to keep the money in the ATM and some staff were also needed to operate the banking system.
