Kathmandu: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) is set to unveil the monetary policy for the current fiscal year 2077-78 BS on Friday. The NRB board meeting will pass the monetary policy on Friday morning. A schedule has been made to make it public at 3 pm today. This is the first monetary policy to be introduced by Mahaa Prasad Adhikari since he became the governor. The challenge for this year's monetary policy is to lift the economy, which has been hit hard by the Carona virus.
Entrepreneurs are also expecting relief from the new monetary policy. The central bank has said it is preparing monetary policy to provide relief to all types of corona-affected businesses. In particular, the policy will focus on easy loan availability, low interest rate, refinancing facility, job creation and entrepreneurship development. A package related to financial reform is also expected. Meanwhile, the central bank is preparing to address some of the demands of capital market investors.
